Fist Send not working

Postby deliciousd » 3:06am, Thu 24 Sep, 2009

Alright. I've made it active and I've added my mail server username and password into the code...but now what?

When I attempt to send a test it gives me this message:

Email address not found to send test message.

and when I attempt to do a mailing to a live lists it says:

Started
Processing has started, 1 message(s) to process.
It is safe to click your "stop" button now, report will be sent by email to myname@mydomain.com
Processing message 1
Looking for users
Found them: 0 to process
Processed 0 out of 0 users
Hmmm, No users found to send to
It took 3 hours 38 mins 42 secs to send this message
Script stage: 3
Finished, Nothing to do
Finished, All done

I'm so confused! any help for the weary?

As the report says, you do not appear to have any users subscribed, so phpList can't send a test message as there's no one to send to.

Easiest fix? Subscribe yourself, then send the test message. Don't forget to set TEST in the lists/config/config.php file so messages are actually sent when you're ready to go live.

I agree that the report states that there are no subscribers and this leaves me confused. When I click on "List" in the PhpList nav pane I see my one list in the "phplist - the list of lists" screen and it states that there is one member. If I click on "view members" I see my entry in the list and it is confirmed. Also in the "# msgs" column I see the number 1, thus I assume this means that one message has been sent to the member (myself). Do I need to do something else with the list or my entry in the list?

Im having the exact same problem only there are total 2376 users on my list. It says they've all been sent, 13 text 2384 HTML which seems to be counting them incorrectly. Im not receiving any emails in my inbox, neither are others on the list yet everything seems to have worked without a proper error message.

When the queue is being processed it says the same thing:

Looking for users
Found them: 0 to process
Processed 0 out of 0 users
Hmmm, No users found to send to

Even though my message appears in the sent list and it says its been sent to 2376 users in total. Whats happening here? This always worked before and my version has been online for over a year without a problem likw this which leads me to believe that my hosting company must have upgraded either PHP or MySQL??? Could this be the problem?

It worked, excellent.

What happened with mine was that some extraneous HTML had got into the source code from pasting MS Word content into it, damn Microsoft... i also noticed that my <HTML> <BODY> <DOCTYPE> and a few other tags had disappeared somehow.

Copying all the source code after it was fixed up into a new message in PHPlist worked the next time around.

<HTML> <BODY> and other tags are always stripped out by phplist, this is expected behaviour i think. you should just use content element tags ans also use inline styles in your template as well as in your message body to display your messages correct in mailclients like thunderbird or ms outlook.
