You can temporarily disable login by setting "require_login" to 0 in your config.php file:
Code: Select all
$require_login = 0;

This should allow you to access the admin module and edit the admin login name and password.

Don't forget to enable login again after you're done, otherwise your installation will be accessible to anyone.

That depends on how you hosted your installation. With a shared hosting package you may have hourly or other message limits. Always check that with your host.

I'm in, but it doesn't let me create a new admin. Looks like the previous admin was deleted.
That's realy strange cause I didn't do this.
this is the log:

Database error 1062 while doing query Duplicate entry '' for key 2

How confident are you with MySQL?

Log in to your webspace control panel, find the phpMyAdmin link and click it. Find the database you are using for your phpList installation and click it, now select phplist_admin (depending on your prefix of course, but should be second table down).

Once the right hand side of the page (I'm using cPanel, may be different in Plesk) has loaded, click browse tab and should now see your admin details. You can edit these by clicking the on pencil icon. You want loginname admin, namelc admin, email (yours), password (your preferred password in "the clear" (IE: don't use MD5 etc), superuser = 1, disabled = 0 and save.

Hi,

ok I'll try that. I'm sure it will work:)

in the meanwhile, please can tell me why each time I send 1 newsletter, i get 2: One is the newsletter, and the second is an empty mail with info about "powered by…".

I don't mind having the powered by, but please tell me how to put it in the same email.

thank you so much for your assistance.

best regards,
jean
