[SOLVED] Test emails are sent... but not real campaigns

Postby isabelleifea » 10:56am, Wed 16 Oct, 2013

Hell again,

I'm facing the problem described here https://mantis.phplist.com/view.php?id=16679#c51763, in short when preparing a campaign, test emails sent manually get processed and delivered without problem

but the real campaign geared towards a list (which contains the test addresses along other subscribers) is not processed, with the notable exception of bogus emails who bounced.
I deleted them, needless to say the other emails are perfectly valid emails.

The error message I got is as following
Error sending email to valid@mail.com The following From address failed: bounce@mydomain.com : Called Mail() without being connected

Then,
Found them: 45 to process
Looking for subscribers
Processing message 9
Please leave this window open. You have batch processing enabled, so it will reload several times to send the messages. Reports will be sent by email to listreports@domain.com
Processing has started, 1 message(s) to process.
Less than batch size were sent, so reloading imminently
Finished this run
45 failed (will retry later)
Processed 45 out of 45 subscribers

What should I do ? Reconcile users no longer offers the possibility to detect invalid emails

Is the workaround described in this message still valid ? http://forums.phplist.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=38374 Does it even apply to my situation ?

Well.. in the meantime, I also discovered that my ISP erased the DKIM signing I implemented some days ago. Could it be related ?

Called Mail() without being connected

This suggests that the SMTP connection values are not correct.
Are you using either of PHPMAILERBLASTHOST or PHPMAILERTESTHOST?

Is there anything in the phplist event log?

I have no idea, how can I make sure of that ?
Here are the last entries of the event log

PHPMAILERBLASTHOST or PHPMAILERTESTHOST are in the config.php file. You probably aren't using them if you are not aware of them.

What else is in the event log? From where was the eror message that you copied

It appears the problem originated from there.
The super-efficient customer support fixed it in a wink.
Since I have another problem, I'll mark this topic as solved and open another.

Hopefully, the last of its kind :D
