How do I send normal URL links in my emails?

Postby HRPOWER » 4:57pm, Wed 24 Oct, 2012

I am trying to send a normal email - just typing in the body section and add a normal URL Link such as www.sitename.com

When the recipient gets the email the URL is shown as www.mysite.com/lists/187123/hhaa/blahbl ... ckable/etc

This makes the email look stupid and spammy...

Is there a simple way to make links in your emails simply display to the user as you have originally typed them?

I've never had such a problem with mine.

Have you tried http:// rather than www?

Alternatively, use the create URL button to create an actual link in the editor for some text?

I think I MAY have sorted it....

In order for links to be clickable when typing them into the WSYWIG thing then you have to type them as normal but send an HTML link...this shows the links properly... hopefully for ALL users right?

Secondly I can replace noreply@ with the reply I address I need to right?

This does not work with emails, which is basically what phpList sends out.

If sending HTML mail out, switch to source and use the normal <a href="http etc> link </a>
