Multiple Lists for different sites

Postby dweeber » 5:27pm, Tue 18 Dec, 2012

I am looking to setup a PHPList for use by a number of domains. It looks like I can do this using a primary mail server (lists.domain.tld) but my biggest concern is the subscribe and unsubscribe pages.

It appears that they all will use the same "look"... rather than use a format that makes it look like it is from their websites.

Is there a mod like this?

Note I was looking at the "Hosted" version originally just to see how the software works, and it has that ability, but it appears it is using code not in the main distribution.

Not sure about the Hosted option, but the downloadable and use on your own web space certainly has the create your own subscribe option.

Using this would allow you to create a subscribe page that matches a specific site.

You don't have to use the same installation for all sites, create individual installs for individual sites, you can always use one DB for all on the same server, just use different db prefixes for each site/install

Latest phpList version is now 3.0.12 (3 February 2015) and requires a minimum of MySQL 5.0 and PHP 5.3.x

The mail server which has a web component will full mail server capabilities is not where most of the other websites are located. Setting up a instance of PHPlist for each domain that will use it seems like a lot of extra maintenance and work especially since the sites themselves won't be managing it.

The idea is to setup a centralized PHPlist server used by multiple domains/lists. With each list having its own customizable subscribe/unsubscribe pages. Nothing else really needs to change.

Will have to look at this further.

Actually, I created a couple lists and see that I might have what I need.

I actually have a newslist server that I lease to others to use. Each admin can have their own subscribe page. And you can create multiple subscribe pages for each admin... Just in case they don't want all of their lists housed on the same page.

Anyways, the only downside is you can't subdomain or white label phplist for other domains. It'd be nice if you could setup admins and they could CNAME (USE DNS) do make it appear to be a subdomain of theirs.
