Ask the Email Guy Anything!

Postby MarkusAllen » 11:59pm, Sat 07 Nov, 2009

Hello fellow email marketing junkies,

In the spirit of open source,
I'd like to offer my email marketing expertise
and give something back to you...

... If you've got an email-marketing related question
(or need some advice), ask here, and I'm going to
do my best to point you in the right direction.

About me:
I started the $10,000 Marketing Tip of the Day
in November of 1997. It was a daily email
message to tens of thousands of subscribers.
As you can see, I've been doing email marketing a long time.

I discontinued the ezine a few years ago (because it was too much work)
and these days I have a FREE weekly internet marketing talkcast.

I say this not to brag, but to show you
that I live and breathe email marketing.

Most important, I'm not selling anything here.
I'm just offering some free advice to give back.

With that's said, let's rock. Ask away!
I'll answer as fast as I can. No question is taboo.

OK, I will bite: how many emails do you find you can send in an hour without getting tar pitted? I am stuck at 25 because phpList does not let me organize the distribution (that is, not sending too many to gmail or yahoo in one go). I used 25 about 2 years ago because that was what worked, but have no idea if the number can be higher now. At 25/hour, it takes a long time.
