Joomla

Hi, I plan to use joomla and I saw that it has an option to email clients. I'm used to use phplist but I'd like to know if this mass mail option in joomla is similar enough for me. Can I set a speed limit to it? Can I use html emails?
Thank you, bye.

I'd like to send html formatted mails to all subscribed users but I don't see an editor like the one phplist has. It's for the cultural office of an embassy, around 3000 users. And the server limits me to 500 mails per hour. It will use joomla, I don't want the client to use a different program for email, but it seems I'll have to install both.

And of course joomla to post cultural related articles.

Why not try it out. You can install it locally. I believe theres a component that gives you the option to replace the core Joomla registration component to allow users to subscribe to up to 2 lists managed by PHPlist.
