How to susbscribe to announcements

Postby Chip » 10:56pm, Fri 12 Nov, 2010

The PHPList FAQ page (http://docs.phplist.com/PhplistFAQ) makes reference to a newsletter that includes security announcements, but the link given (http://www.phplist.com/subscribe) is a 404.

# Are there any security fixes I should be aware of?
* Security announcements can be found on the phpList News page. We recommend you subscribe to the phpList Newsletter, so we can keep you up to date on any new security announcement, upcoming phpList releases, and changes in the documentation.

I tried subscribing to the Announcements forum, but the 'subscribe to forum' link doesn't display on that page.

Can anyone give me a hint on how to get notices of new versions (especially security issues) by email?

Thanks,
Chip

I'm not sure the developers are still maintaining that newsletter. Might be a good idea add a mantis entry on this topic (http://mantis.phplist.com ), and we may need to update the docs.

Possible alternatives:
1. Configure "How often do you want to check for a new version of phpList (days)" on the configuration page (lists/admin/?page=configure&id=check_new_version).
2. Subscribe to the sourceforge RSS feed at:
3. Possibly via twitter: http://twitter.com/phplist
