I click on the "search" link on the side when logged in and get "Sorry but you are not permitted to use the search system."
So I have to log out to search...

Then you just need to make a post or two more. I'm not sure what the limit is for new members but it's probably only one or two. Didn't know about the search enabled as a guest (logged out) though.
