FWIW, I have this line setup in my cron to run every hour.. Seems to work fine, and I didn't modify any php files. Maybe it will help someone.
wget -q -O - 'http://mywebsite.com/phpList/admin/index.php?page=processqueue&login=myusername&password=mypassword' > /dev/null
I confirm it works for me. Phplist 2.10.8
Previously curl returned the messy HTML code that is actually Phplist saying "I do not understand your login". Wget said access denied.
I wonder if nullifying the output, as in Ryanc's wget configuration, is what makes the difference.
