/tmp file

I have just moved my phplist to a new server and set it up.
I am trying to import some more users but I get the following warning message

The temporary directory for uploading () is not writable, so import will fail

I have read the help and it tells me to check the $tmpdir and that it is writable.
I have checked it is there and is writable but the message stays there and stops me importing
Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Cheers
Jerry

Hi

Yes it is RWXRWXRWX, but I have tried other combinations as from experience some programmes don't like it fully open.

Cheers

try a small test import of 5 or so records. Plus what is the MB size of your import file? What is the MB upload size of your PHP INI?

Often post is set at 8 mb by default and 2mb for uploads. PHPlist is 1mb.

I had the same problem : tmpdir='/tmp', the directory existed, with the correct permissions, and still the import page claimed the temporary folder () was not writable. I made some changes in /lists/admin/commonlib/pages/importcsv.php to test it out, and it turns out that there is some conflict in the definition of $system_tmpdir on line 14. I changed it to
$system_tmpdir = ini_get("open_basedir");
and the problem vanished.

I guess it was a limitation from my host provider to which I did not have access.

This is with phplists ver 2.10.17

Hope this helps.
