Change port problem solved

Postby closer8888 » 7:18pm, Thu 16 Dec, 2010

I have been racking my brain for the past two hours trying to figure out why changing the port # anywhere in phplist doesn't do any good. Truth is a little of it was my fault. First I didn't see that the lines for setting the username and password for the phpmailer in config.php had been commented out. OOps.

The next part was not my fault. I am using the newest version and in class.phplistmailer.php, the line $this->SMTPAuth = true; had been commented out.
I also put in $this->Port = 587; to use that port.
So it all looks like this in class.phplistmailer.php now: (note the two lines that say //added by Polis
Code: Select all
if (defined('PHPMAILERHOST') && PHPMAILERHOST != '') {
        //logEvent('Sending email via '.PHPMAILERHOST);
        $this->Helo = getConfig("website");
        $this->Host = PHPMAILERHOST;
        if ( isset($GLOBALS['phpmailer_smtpuser']) && $GLOBALS['phpmailer_smtpuser'] != ''
             && isset($GLOBALS['phpmailer_smtppassword']) && $GLOBALS['phpmailer_smtppassword']) {
/*
          add$this->SMTPAuth = true;
*/
      $this->SMTPAuth = true;  //added by Polis
          $this->Username = $GLOBALS['phpmailer_smtpuser'];
          $this->Password = $GLOBALS['phpmailer_smtppassword'];
      $this->Port = 587;// added by Polis
        }
        $this->Mailer = "smtp";
      } else {
         #  logEvent('Sending via mail');
       #  $this->Mailer = "mail";
      # $this->IsSendmail();
         $this->CharSet = getConfig("text_charset");
         $this->isMail();
      }

Yes. That's where I got the second part. It was a good post. The thing I never saw was the auth line that had been commented out. When I uncommented it, everything worked great and I threw a party.
