Installing current SVN version

Postby hmronline » 6:20pm, Wed 06 Oct, 2010

I had PHPList version 2.11.5 running properly but wanted to upgrade it to current SVN version.

In order to do that I've followed this and this guides, but two issues appeared:

1) When trying to access http://MYAPACHE/lists/admin I just see a blank page. It is not a 404, the index.php is properly loading but nothing is shown. Is this a bug or something I'm doing wrong?

As a workaround, I've then re-installed 2.11.5 version and then overwrote it (without deleting) with SVN version. I was then able to continue configuring PHPList.

2) After configuring PHPList, I've tried to send emails to a list, but no emails were sent and this error was shown: "Error: Running DEV version, but developer_email not set".

I've tried changing its version on database table, changing it from "dev-dev" to something else like "myver-myver" but it keeps saying its a DEV version.

Again, is this something intended that way? Is something I can modify ?

I would like to use latest version (from trunk) in my production environment in order to take advantage of current development efforts and, if possible, contribute to the project with real-usage requests/suggestions/bugs/etc.

Hope someone could help me with these issues.

Thanks in advance!

The svn is missing something:

Warning: require_once() [function.require-once]: Unable to access /var/www/vhosts/ in /var/www/vhosts/ on line 103
