bounceruleactions not applied

Postby siech » 10:34am, Tue 16 Jul, 2013

Hi,

Their seems to be a bug in the "bounceruleactions" of 2.11.10 as 100% of bounces match with my rules but none of the actions are applied?

Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Best of luck,

Have you upgraded to 2.11.10 from an earlier version? The code for file admin/processbounces.php in 2.11.10 doesn't look too different to that for 2.10.19.

Can you give an example of one of your rules, and the body of the bounce that you think should be matched?

Are there some lines in the event log indicating the number of bounces that were not matched?

Hi,

thx for the quick feedback. I added an sql export of my regex rules. these worked fine in the previous version (2.10.17).

e.g.: The following regex matched with the body (linked in phplist_bounceregex_bounce) : 5\.[1467]\.[1-7] but the action to blacklist the user and delete the bounce is not performed.

Body:
Code: Select all
------=_Part_964049_141268383.1373948936703
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

An error occurred while trying to deliver the mail to the following recipients:
j.winters@skynet.be
------=_Part_964049_141268383.1373948936703
Content-Type: message/delivery-status; name="status.dat"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
Content-Description: Delivery Status Notification
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="status.dat"

Reporting-MTA: dns; amazonses.com

Remote-MTA: dns; amazonses.com
Final-Recipient: rfc822; j.winters@skynet.be
Action: failed
Diagnostic-Code: Amazon SES has suppressed sending to this address because it has a recent history of bouncing as an invalid address. For more information about how to remove an address from the suppression list, see the Amazon SES Developer Guide: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/DeveloperGuide/remove-from-suppressionlist.html
Status: 5.1.1

...

As no action was performed, nothing is logged in the events.

many thx,

siech

There should be a message in the event log:

xxx bounces were not matched by advanced processing rules

If that is not present then your bounces are not being recognised. On the View Bounces page, is the bounce associated with the user and the message?

yes it is.

After looking at it more carefully I remembered I applied this patch:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3070&p=92909&hilit=bounces+processing+using+PEAR#p92909

But maybe the "processouncepage" provide is not compatible with the new version? I had a quick look but I'm afraid this is above my php skills :(.

The file that you linked to is for a very old version of phplist that does not support advanced bounce handling.
I don't understand how advanced bounce handling could have worked when you used release 2.10.17.
