Wie muss die Konfiguration f. Strato Shared Host Paket sein?

Wie muss die Konfiguration f. Strato Shared Host Paket sein?

Postby pixelschubser » 9:19pm, Sun 25 Oct, 2009

Hallo!

Danke!

Seems as STRATO does not consider services as phplist. They suggest to get a virtual server in order to do the mailing.

Better than a virtual server might be joining some project like mailchimp. If you want to send 27.000 mails per mailing, it might be interesting for you to get on a server which is whitelisted. Doing what you plan to do, through STRATO and phplist will cause you a lot of spammer-trouble.

If you want to send a more reasonable amount of mails some time in a while here is a workaround:

As Strato reloads the server-sided script in question every 30 seconds, every process that takes longer than those 30 seconds gets hanged on. The solution is to set the batch processing in the config.php like this:

# define the amount of emails you want to send per period. If 0, batch processing
# is disabled and messages are sent out as fast as possible
define("MAILQUEUE_BATCH_SIZE",20); <!---- sends 20 mails per period in order not to overload the server-->

# define the length of one batch processing period, in seconds (3600 is an hour)
define("MAILQUEUE_BATCH_PERIOD",30); <!---- equals the time of each process to the time the server-sided script is running-->

# to avoid overloading the server that sends your email, you can add a little delay
# between messages that will spread the load of sending
# you will need to find a good value for your own server
# value is in seconds (or you can play with the autothrottle below)
define('MAILQUEUE_THROTTLE',1); <!---- in order not to overload the server-->
