SOLVED: Sending a Newsletter without Connection

Postby azarober868 » 4:10pm, Sun 02 Jun, 2013

Hi !
My newsletters take 3 or four days to be sent due to the servers restrictions per hour...
and there is no problem with it... OUT OF a technical reason to close the computer after beginning the work during one of those days... ( electricity problem, etc. ...)

THE EMAILS GOES ON SENDING ? Or the computer MUST be connected ALL those days ?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help and a quick answer (sending thius month newsletter) !
Roberto

You need to create a cron job that will run the process queue command. This will run on the server, not on your PC, so will continue when you close your browser.

See this page of the documentation for guidance on how to create a cron job http://docs.phplist.com/SetupCronJob.html.
If you are on a hosting account then the control panel will probably provide an interface to specify the command and the frequency of the cron job.

The cron job is separate to what you are doing in the browser, so you can continue to use phplist or close the browser, it doesn't matter.
