Newbie struggling with form

Postby JohnPr » 11:42am, Thu 24 Apr, 2014

I have create a list.
I have created a form. List to offer is selected.
Copied the <form> info to my newsletter page (it is a different domain).
Changed my action tag to: <form method="post" action="http://www.mydomain.com/lists/?p=subscribe&id=6" name="subscribeform">

But now it is redirected to http://www.mydomain.com/lists/?p=subscribe&id=6 without adding the new subscriber!?
And I get the request "You are logged in as administrator....." If I add the email address this way, it is added.

What part am I missing?

View your subscribe page from phpList, Make a note of it's address, log yourself out of the admin, then view the page again. Now you should not see the You are logged in bit.

Now view the source, Just above where your <form> coding starts, there should be a </script> tag.

Find the start of this <script> and copy that as well as your <form>, now use that in your other domain's subscribe page. So you copy from the <script labguage=javascript.. > down to the </div> below the line starting </script>. This way you copy all the code that phpList includes in a subscribe page and requires to run correctly.

I think it's pretty much the same in version 2.

A simpler method may perhaps be to install phpList on that domain??

Tried it. Logged in part is solved.
Added the script part. Result is the same. Going to give it a new try tomorrow. If it fails I install
it at my other domain to.
Made one mistake. I am running version 3. Posted in the wrong forum.
Thanks.
