margins and left alignment

Postby jhoerlein » 3:25pm, Sat 11 Oct, 2014

In our monthly newsletter, we would like margins to be very wide, and within these margins, all text to align left. We found documentation in this forum about using html <table> to create margins, and it works somewhat, but padding of as much as 45px to the left and right margins only creates a slightly larger margin than 15px, this slightly larger margin being created by reducing the space between words. Also, though all text aligns left in the original html document, single short lines are centered in the phpList version of the document. Would you have a solution to these two issues? Our phpList version is 2.10.19.

See sample code below in which the first <table></table> looks okay except that the margin is too small, and the second <table></table> is centered instead of aligning to the left.

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr>
<td style="padding: 0px 45px 0px 45px; text-align: justify;">
<SPAN style="COLOR: "><FONT style='face: "Times' New roman?><FONT
style="COLOR: #000080"><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt">This Webinar meeting is an
interactive format, providing opportunity for world service and group work.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN></FONT></FONT></FONT></SPAN></td></tr></table><BR>

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr>
<td style="padding: 0px 45px 0px 45px; text-align: left;">
<FONT style='face: "Times' New roman?><SPAN style="COLOR: "><FONT
style="COLOR: #000080"><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt"><dt><dl>We look forward to your
participation.</dt></dl></FONT></FONT></SPAN></FONT><SPAN style="COLOR: "></SPAN>
