Images don't show in E-mail

Postby katebegood » 6:17pm, Thu 08 Mar, 2007

I am following all the correct procedures for setting a template with a header graphic. Here's the code that is in the template:

<div>correct URL, Omitted because they won't let me post with a URL because I'm new<br>
<div><br>
[CONTENT]</div>
</div>

The graphic exists and it shows in the template. But, when I send a message using this template, there is no graphic. There's nothing in the e-mail before the text I entered for [content].

This is really frustrating. My client really wants to have their graphic at the top of their emails.

I'm afraid your code is not legible. See if you are allowed to edit your post and select "Disable HTML in this post" on the left of your editing window.

Did you review the templates documentation, in particular this paragraph?

Images
Images in your template will be included (embedded) in the emails. Any reference to an image that does not start with "http://" can (and should) be uploaded for inclusion in the email. It is advised to use few images and make them very small. If you upload your template, you will be able to add your images. References to images to be included should be from the same directory, ie <img src="image.jpg" ... > and not <img src="/some/directory/location/image.jpg" ... >
Note: If you add images to the content of your messages, they need to include a complete URL, and will not be included/embedded in the email.

Yes, I read all the instructions and I followed them to the T. In the meantime, I installed PHPList on my personal account and tested the template. It works fine. The image is there when it sends the e-mail. The only difference between the two accounts is that one has ASP enabled on it and the other doesn't. They are both on a linux box at Lunarpages. The account without ASP works fine. The account with ASP enabled doesn't show the graphic. Could ASP enabled have anything to do with it? The only other thing about the account where it doesn't work is that it is currently set up as a test account. We haven't transferred the domain name yet since we need to be sure that all our programs work before we will transfer the domain name.

So it appears to be a server related issue. Still I can't see any obvious relation between this and having ASP enabled on the server.

Ok, I figured out what the problem was. I had not set up the users with "Send this user HTML emails" toggled to 1. Once I did that, everything works as advertised! Thanks for your help.
