Bellsouth MailGuard

Postby Cryptoman » 4:41am, Sat 24 Mar, 2007

Bellsouth has a much-maligned spam filter called MailGuard. It is enabled by default and simply deletes at the server any mail it considers spam. Unfortunately, it also deletes any PHPlist mail sent out in HTML format with the default settings. After much testing, I discovered that what triggers it seems to be the embedded PHPlist logo image. To fix this, set EMAILTEXTCREDITS to 1 in the config.php file (see below). The developers might consider making this the default.

# If you want to remove the image from the HTML emails, set this constant
# to be 1, the HTML emails will then only add a line of text as signature

Thanks for the tip!

As for making it the default, I, and many others have no such problem with Hosts mail filters.
