colour problems

Can aomebody help me with this problem.
I want to send a message, but i want the text in white. Normally I can change this on the page 'send a message', there is a sort of beam above the message-field. There you can adjust the colours. But now that beam is gone. Maybe I accendently changed some settings?
I tried to enter everything in HTML-code (colour body), but that doesn't work either.
