send message pages - errors

Postby enconwjc » 2:14pm, Thu 26 Apr, 2007

Hello -

My install is complete but I notice a number of problems with the send message portion of the script. I notice that some of the boxes do not appear.

for example -> lists/admin/?page=send&id=17 nothing appears under the message section on this page when compared to the demo at the demo . phplist . com site, a window similar to MS word appears for entering text. It is this window that does not appear on my install. Likewise, on some of the other tabs (Content / format / attach / scheduling / criteria / lists / misc) certain aspects are missing.

Next, no RSS functions are listed on my main page.

finally, I am not being allowed to log in to admin from my work PC, but I can from my home PC.

Thanks, and I cant wait to test it out.

FCKeditor -which is the default editor distributed with phplist- needs javascript enabled in your browser to work. You could check that if that is the case.
Ref: http://docs.phplist.com/UsingFCKEditor

Alternatively you could install and enable TinyMCE: http://docs.phplist.com/TinyMCE

Or you could disable all editors in config.php, use your preferred html editor and just paste the code in the message content window.

In order to use RSS, it should be enabled and configured first: http://docs.phplist.com/RssFunctionsInfo

Possibly this:
You are connecting through multiple proxies and this means that your IP address isn't the same for every page request. (AOL is an example of an ISP that connects in this way.) You can solve this in config.php, by setting define("CHECK_SESSIONIP",0);

Well, assuming that the demo phplist at the phplist website works fine, I can only assume that the problem is not a setting in my browser -- would you agree? ... that would leave the other two options, correct?
