Delete email after X bounces

Postby thisisit3 » 12:00pm, Fri 04 May, 2007

I'd like to automaticaly delete emails (users) from the database after X number of bounces.

Currently, phplist marks users as "unconfirmed" when X number of bounces are reached, i'd like that to change to automaticaly delete.

I also tried to find a way to delete all unconfirmed users, but i couldn't find a way to do that.

Anyone got any ideas how to do the above two things please?

You could have a go at 'advanced bounce handling' which offers the possibility of deleting users.

The phplist demo has advanced bounce handling enabled, so you can take a look there too, e.g. http://demo.phplist.com/lists/admin/?page=bounce&id=1

For future reference and help of others, the only way to auto-delete users on X bounces is to use the advanced bounce handling.

Ofcourse this means a little extra work to create regular expressions to search for matches (a way for phplist to detect that the received email is a bounce or not).
