blacklisted - disabled what's the difference?

I found the disabled setting under admin/user settings.

The only way of setting blacklisted status is by doing manual sql UPDATEs.

Can I unsubscribe users by changing disabled to 1?

thanks!

Are you sure? Have you tried clicking on the "unsubscribe page" link on the "details of a user" page?

No! Apparently "disabled" means something other than "disable the account".

See:

I agree that this is confusing and at very least the term "disabled" should be changed to something less misleading.
