Bounce process can not connect to mailbox

Postby moc » 3:47am, Sun 18 Aug, 2013

When trying to process bounce messages I receive the following error:
Cannot create POP3 connection to kolab.woodwind-group.com.au: Can't open mailbox {kolab.woodwind-group.com.au:995/pop3/STARTTLS/novalidate-cert}INBOX: invalid remote specification
Identifying consecutive bounces
Nothing to do

I host phplist on a VirtualMachine with my service provider:
My mail server is in a VirtualMachine at a different IP

I have tried numerous config setups but can not find a solution.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

My config file is set up

From the php documentation, the flag STARTTLS is invalid, where did you see that?
http://uk3.php.net/manual/en/function.imap-open.php

I suggest getting an email client such as Thunderbird working with the mail server, then use those settings for the phplist config.php file.

Thanks duncanc,
I do actually use thunderbird.
STARTTLS is what thunderbird requires to connect to my bounces pop account
No other protocol TLS, SSL, seemed to work.
I hadn't seen the php link you sent me so I will set up an imap account on my mailserver and try again.
I'll let you know how I go

Changed to imap
$bounce_mailbox_port = "143/imap/notls"
and connection worked - Thank you
Still some problems with processing the bounces but I will do some more testing
Thanks again.[SOLVED]
