Issue when Initializing db

Postby QuentinBzh » 2:41pm, Fri 04 Apr, 2014

Hello,

I'm trying to install phplist v3.0.5.
I've uploaded on my website the content of the lists repository and set up a database.
I've then tried to connect to my_website/lists/admin and get an error 500.
It has been solved by removing .htaccess file (seen on some forum).

Now, I can access to PHPList but I'm unable to set it correctly. I've first gone to initialise the database which gave me this results (seems ok to me) :
Creating tables

Initialising table attribute... ok
Initialising table user_attribute... ok
Initialising table user... ok
Initialising table user_history... ok
Initialising table list... ok
Initialising table listuser... ok
Initialising table message... ok
Initialising table messagedata... ok
Initialising table listmessage... ok
Initialising table user_blacklist... ok
Initialising table user_blacklist_data... ok
Initialising table message_attachment... ok
Initialising table attachment... ok
Initialising table usermessage... ok
Initialising table sendprocess... ok
Initialising table template... ok
Initialising table templateimage... ok
Initialising table bounce... ok
Initialising table user_message_bounce... ok
Initialising table user_message_forward... ok
Initialising table config... ok
Initialising table admin... ok
Initialising table adminattribute... ok
Initialising table admin_attribute... ok
Initialising table admin_password_request... ok
Initialising table subscribepage... ok
Initialising table subscribepage_data... ok
Initialising table eventlog... ok
Initialising table urlcache... ok
Initialising table linktrack... ok
Initialising table linktrack_ml... ok
Initialising table linktrack_uml_click... ok
Initialising table linktrack_forward... ok
Initialising table linktrack_userclick... ok
Initialising table userstats... ok
Initialising table bounceregex... ok
Initialising table bounceregex_bounce... ok
Initialising table admintoken... ok
Initialising table i18n... ok

Success: Tell us about it.

Please make sure to read the file README.security that can be found in the zip file.

Please make sure to subscribe to the announcements list to make sure you are updated when new versions come out. Sometimes security bugs are found which make it important to upgrade. Traffic on the list is very low.

Continue with phpList setup

I've then clicked on "Continue with phpList setup" and get a window with :
Initialise Database Go there No

Verify Settings Go there No

Configure attributes Go there No

Create public lists Go there Yes

Create a subscribe page Go there No

Add some subscribers Go There No

Here it seems that database in not initialized correctly ?! Strange, no ?
If I try to Go there in front of Initialise database, I've got a lot of 1050 errors. I don't want to try to upgrade the database, as I'm not sure of the effect on my whole DB which is shared with the rest of my website... My provider does not allow multiple database :(

I've also tried to verify settings, but I have :
error: Invalid security token, please reload the page and try again

This may be due to the fact that the db is not well installed ? Or to the same root cause ?

If someone could be of any help ? Thanks !

Error 500 appears because your host does not all php_flag commands in the .htaccess file, simple delete the lines which start php_flag and replace the .htaccess file.

MySQL error 1050 usually means that the tables already exist, so that suggests that the database has been initalised okay.

If you want to try it again, simply log in to your database using myphpAdmin and delete those tables with a phplist_ prefix, then you could re-initalise it safely.

I assume you set the database prefix up in the config/config.php file?

Latest phpList version is now 3.0.12 (3 February 2015) and requires a minimum of MySQL 5.0 and PHP 5.3.x
