"Your session timed out, please log in again"

Postby Shofar » 8:21pm, Thu 21 Aug, 2014

I just upgraded to phpList 3.0.7 today, using the same technique as previous versions. However, this time, after adding the database info to the "starter config file", and going to the login page, I am greeted with the message, "Your session timed out, please log in again." Also appearing in a yellow box is the message, "Default login is admin, with password phplist."

I use Firefox 31.0, but it does the same thing with I.E. 11.

Neither my regular login or the default login works. Is anyone else having this problem? Should I delete the install and upload the files again?

The URL is: http://www.alluresalonandtanning.com/lists/admin/

Thanks.

You should use the config.php file from your previous version, it is still valid. Does that make any difference?

No, same result with the previous config file. The only difference was that the yellow box with the message, "Default login is admin, with password phplist" doesn't appear.

I just noticed that this problem should have been posted in "Zone 3." Can the thread be moved there?

I fixed this by deleting the admin folder on the server, then uploading the admin folder again. Went through the paces, problem solved.

Latest phpList version is now 3.0.12 (3 February 2015) and requires a minimum of MySQL 5.0 and PHP 5.3.x

Ok, so I renamed and moved (did not want to delete) the old admin folder and uploaded a new one but I still have the same issue.
I can't even export my subscribers without getting a security token error. :?: :?: :?:
Any suggestions?

Perhaps this would help... put this into your config.php file. I changes the way that the system 'keeps you logged in'. Let me know if works, or not!

Code: Select all
# you can store sessions in the database instead of the default place by assigning
# a tablename to this value. The table will be created and will not use any prefixes
# this only works when using mysql and only for administrator sessions
$SessionTableName = "phplistsessions";

I just installed phplist-3.0.8 with my old config file and when I login using the admin userid I get a message:
your session timed out, please login again

I tried this one:
$SessionTableName = "phplistsessions";

but it doesn't make any difference

The old release works OK, but if this release fixes a security issue I probably have to use it.
There must be some change in this release that causes this. Does anyone know?

btw, I am using php 5.3.13 and mysql 5.5.32
