2nd Phplist Install for Add-on Site

Trying to install second instance of Phplist for an add-on site hosted by Bluehost. Already have Phplist 3.0.12 for one website that has been up-and-running for couple of years and works great. First install is in:

/public_html/lists

Tried the "One-Click Install" on cpanel but failed with this error log contents:

1428450927: /home8/user8/public_html/secondwebsite/lists/ssv3_installer_payload-nQQDmvTXyv.php startup

1428450958: /home8/user8/public_html/secondwebsite/lists/ssv3_removal_payload-ThaokEXa0z.php startup

So I tried a manual install by creating a new database in MySql, editting config.php and uploading lists folder to:

/public_html/secondwebsite/lists

However, when I enter:

secondwebsite.com/lists/admin

in address line of browser (Firefox 37.0.1) to complete install, it just takes me to the new website's homepage. Have DNS zone records (A/CNAME/MX) set up on hosting site and have tested email to info@secondwebsite.com and it's going to the webmail inbox correctly.

Is it possible there's a really simple entry somewhere I've overlooked to complete the second installation?

I'd start by breaking the problem down into smaller steps:

1. check that the second website is working properly:
secondwebsite.com
Does that give you the home page of the secondwebsite.com?
This needs to work properly before the rest of phpList will work.

2. when that's working, then test:
secondwebsite.com/lists
That should show you something related to the second installation
If not, you need to troubleshoot until this is working.

3. then try:
secondwebsite.com/lists/admin
Maybe by fixing #2, this gets fixed... will find out.

Yes, the new site is up-and-running, no connectivity problems at all. By entering

secondwebsite.com/lists/admin

I expected to go to a Phplist setup screen and continue the install there.

As with so many of these hosting companies, they offer Phplist through cpanel, but support ends there. I'll post if I can find the solution.

PM'ing you that info.

The site itself was built using wix.com. The email hosting is with Bluehost. I own the domain name as well.

Step 1: site works, is up and running

Step 2: goes to directly to homepage.

Step 3: goes directly to homepage, as in Step 2.

Without being able to see your file system, it appears that you are getting some kind of redirect in the web server. You should make sure that the /lists directory and below are setup properly for permissions (owned by apache:apache?).

My hunch is that something is not setup properly for either permissions or owners. When the server cannot serve the page, it 'defaults' back to the home page. your redirects are setup in the httpd.conf file (apache config file), and can also be specified in a .htaccess file ...

So you should:
- check permissions and owners
- look at what your '301' redirect is setup to...
- test with some simple files to see if you can view them via the web browser. if you can't, then you need to fix that first, then you can continue on to the phplist configuration.

Thanks for the tips, Dan. I'll post my findings when I figure this out.

Still searching but seems adding subscribers/maillists to Wix-built sites is a paid offshoot of theirs, so that may be why it's hard to get support for Phplist, although I have found other Wix-built sites that use Phplist to build subscriber lists, like http://aqqh.hosted.phplist.com/lists/?p=subscribe.
