Firstview

I really like seeing the statistics but I'm curious as to where the time/date stamp comes from on "Firstview." Does the time/date come from each individual's clock or from the server's clock? The reason I ask is I sent a message to a list that included my own email address. I opened it immediately after it arrived yet the statistics showed that it was 4 hours and some later and later I got responses that were supposedly minutes later. This makes me think that the time/date must come from the recipient's clock, not the server's clock. Considering subscribers to my list are from all over the world, the only real value the time/date stamp is that it WAS opened, not when it was opened.
