Resend campaign avoiding user getting it twice

Postby postalemployeenewman » 6:29pm, Sun 21 Sep, 2014

Hi everybody, as stated in the documentation, when you send a campaign to more than one list, every user will only receive it once, even if they belong to several lists.

I'm wondering if the same holds when I use the "resend" tool: if I resend the campaign to other lists, and these lists share users with the list I sent the same campaign previously, will they get it again? (I'd like to avoid that)

I hope the question is clear, thank you for the support!

I'm using version 3.0.6

Not sure what you mean by the "resend tool", is it the resend button on the "View Campaign" page?

But you can send the message to the same list again or to new lists and phplist will not send a message to a subscriber who has already received it.

Yes, I meant the "resend" button.

So, if I understand your answer correctly, the same message will not be sent to someone who received it alreay. Then why can I select the same list again? Will the message be sent to addresses that bounced the campaign?

In that case, the campaign will be sent to any list members who have been added since the campaign was first sent.

Thank you, it's clear now!
Useful info to be included in the documentation (I didn't find it anyway)

Latest phpList version is now 3.0.12 (3 February 2015) and requires a minimum of MySQL 5.0 and PHP 5.3.x

Well that's hardly the info I was looking for (specific to the resend).
