Request for help with htaccess for phplist

Postby redhat » 5:35pm, Thu 11 Dec, 2014

I have phplist installed or hosted on my server. However, the web folder has been configured such that when users browse to the webfolder, they are taken to a particular URL.
However, this is affecting the phplist installation. When users go to the URL of the phplist installation or the web folder of phplist, they are redirected to the index file of root directory.
How can I solve this problem?
Any useful suggestions would be very welcome.
This is the content of the htaccess file:

Code: Select all

DirectoryIndex index.php

<FilesMatch "\.(php|inc)$">
Order allow,deny
deny from all
</FilesMatch>
<FilesMatch "(index.php|dl.php|ut.php|lt.php|download.php|connector.php)$">
Order allow,deny
allow from all
</FilesMatch>

# if you want more than this for attachments, you can increase these values
# but you really, really should consider uploading them somewhere
# and only sending a link in your mails
# bigger than this really doesn't make sense in emails

## these lines are now commented out, to avoid 500 errors, https://mantis.phplist.com/view.php?id=9937
## but you should consider adding them

#php_value upload_max_filesize 3M
#php_value post_max_size 4M
DirectoryIndex index.php
Code: Select all

The version of phplist I have installed is phplist-3.1.10

Any useful suggestions would be appreciated.

Very many thanks.

Can you clarify please, which version of phpList are you using? Latest is 3.0.10 AFAIK, not 3.1.10

Can you give an example URL please? I'm confused by what info you've given.

Is your phplist directory in your root directory or in a subdirectory?

Latest phpList version is now 3.0.12 (3 February 2015) and requires a minimum of MySQL 5.0 and PHP 5.3.x

Thanks for your reply and showing interest in my problem.

Yes You are right the version is phplist-3.0.10 .
The phplist installed on my server is not on root directory.

the url is like
www.mydomain.com/subscription/phplist/lists/

The problem is when I am accessing this list folder the index.php of root folder is opening.
means I am typing the above url and I am getting
www.mydomain.com/index.php

I think now you can understand my issue. Please help me to solve this.

Thanks for that info.

Without actually seeing things it's a bit difficult to guess, but I'm going to hazard a guess that there is some sort of setting in your root .htaccess file that is causing some sort of redirection, possibly an Error 404 redirection?

If so, can you turn it off to see if you can then visit the URL that holds your phpList url and if there is any error shown?

You may need to add $pageroot="/subscription/phplist/lists"; to your config.php file as it defaults to "/lists"; as a rule even if it's not present in Version 3's config.php file.

Config vs config-extended
