Exporting all users

Postby gpaisnd » 8:41pm, Mon 05 Aug, 2013

Hi,

I'm using php 2.10.10 in the latest version of Chrome--Windows 7.

I have 815 emails total. I want to export all of these users going back to the day I started using phplist in 2006. When I click the Export button on the main page my date choice is limited to no earlier than Jan. 1 2010--I'm missing about 100 of my users. I don't know how to 'configure.php' so if that is the answer please help me with step by step directions as to how to do that.

Thanks in advance,
Gregory

As explained in the config file (lists/config/config.php) by default phpList looks 3 years in the past, and 10 in the future.

Approx lines 358-368:
Code: Select all
# year ranges. If you use dates, by default the drop down for year will be from
# three years before until 10 years after this the current value for year. If there
# is no current value the current year will be used.
# if you want to use a bigger range you can set the start and end year here
# be aware that the drop down may become very large.
# if set to 0 they will use the default behaviour. So I'm afraid you can't start with
# year 0. Also be aware not to set the end year to something relatively soon in the
# future, or it will stop working when you reach that year.
define('DATE_START_YEAR',0);
define('DATE_END_YEAR',0);

For your purposes, simply change the first as follows:-

Code: Select all
define('DATE_START_YEAR',2006);

I'd advise you to update from 2.10.10 asap as there have been a number of security updates between that version and 2.10.19.

Hi,

I appreciate your help. I have a problem in that my web person has 'disappeared'-does not respond to email, phone calls, etc. Which means that I do not know where/how to access the files you want me to access. I know very little about phplist other than to use the interface to send my newsletter to my list. How do I get to the page where I can change the date range to export my users?

Thanks,
Gregory

Ohh, that's bad news.

Right, whose server (web space) is your phpList hosted on? Was it bought by you or supplied by your web person (and that's part of my job these days as well)?

As to where the file is, it's on that webspace and without FTP access, or web space cPanel access, you won't get to it.

Don't give up.

Hi,

You pretty much confirmed what I thought. My web hosting is another issue. Anyway, if I could get to the cPanel where would I access the config.php file?

Thanks again,
Gregory
