3rd party code for phpList

Me again......

to much coffee this time and many thanks to Tobias who contacted me regarding a problem with the following error message

Warning: is_file() [function.is-file]: open_basedir restriction in effect.

Nothing to do with the hack actually and only required switching off php safe mode and updating the .htaccess file.

However because he is using [URL:http://] in his CONTENT to create his newsletters from an external .html file there is a problem as the View OnLine link (in the email) would open the browser and only display the anchored link itself i.e. <a href [url:http:// link to page.html] rather than the newsletter.

This was caused by a problem with the original view OnLine code which I have now identified and corrected.

The updated files will be available as before from http://www.alangeorge-photography.com/listCode_007.php

This is an update to two hacks that I've worked on in the past

View OnLine
Newsletter Archive

both have been updated to work with phpList version 3.0.0 and are both operational.

Just have to tidy the code, write up my notes, installation instructions and create the 7zip files as I've done in the past.

Note as before the View OnLine utilises the subscriber id and [PlaceHolders] such as FirstName, Lastname etc.

I will update this post once the 7zip files are available.

Regards

Alan

ps code for 2.10.19 is still available at the link on my earlier postings.

The updated version of the News Archive can be downloaded from the following page and as before correctly interprets [PLACEHOLDERS] including [VIEWONLINE].

http://www.alangeorge-photography.com/listCode_012.php

This will not work with with versions below phpList 3.0.0 and as before contains basic page formatting that you will have modify for your own website.

Please make backups of the database and your files before applying this hack.

The View OnLine hack will be made available shortly once I've re-organised my websites pages and run the search engine to scan for the new pages and newsletters. Yes it really does scan Newsletters created in phpList.....

Follow this link and there may be something useful at the end.......

http://www.alangeorge-photography.com/listCode_013.php

which might just be the recently updated View OnLine that works with phpList 3.0.0

As with all hacks make sure you backup your existing files and database before applying

This hack works with the updated NewsLetter Archive detailed in the previous post.

Hi all

with the latest release of phpList to 3.0.4 the developers have modified the sendmaillib.php file which the View OnLine module is based.

There is now a new release of View Online available that incorporates the v3.0.4 modifications alongside the earlier release i.e. before 3.0.4

Alan,

I uploaded the files. I am having issues composing a campaign. The "Content" and "Text' tab work fine. But when I go to any of the other tabs from 3-6, its linked to blank.

Did I do something wrong with the sendemaillib file?

By the way, I didn't copy paste. I just uploaded the files from the rar package and edited the .htaccess file.

Thanks for your help.

Which version of phpList are you using ?

Which file did you download as mine are 7zip not RAR

and the files for this mod are not called when composing a campaign and are either new (preparemessage.php, view_online.php) or replace (sendmaillib.php) the existing file.

The two files preparemessage.php and sendmaillib.php are two parts of the original sendmaillib.php file, i.e. preparemessage prepares the message for sending not composing.

Have you updated anything else in phpList ?
