Common plugin crashes phplist

3rd party code for phpList

Common plugin crashes phplist

Postby raybman » 7:21pm, Tue 11 Mar, 2014

Maybe someone has a solution to this problem...

Simply uploading the Common plugin makes phplist inaccessible, I get the white blank page, and no error message.

If I delete all of the Common plugin files, all goes back to normal and can login normally.

I see that the Common plugin was updated today so I have that new version. But I did try the previous version to see if
the new version had a problem, however that did not make any difference.

Has anybody experienced this also? Any thoughts would be appreciated?

Currently using phpList version 3.0.5 (recently updated from v2.10).
Other plugins uploaded are: CKEditor (active), fckeditor and TINYMCEplugin
(typical LAMP server setup)

IF it matters, this PHPList is installed on a subdirectory with Wordpress at the domains root, though I never had any issues with this setup in the past.

Is there anything in the apache or php error log files?
If not then add this line to the file admin/pluginlib.php
Code: Select all
<?php
error_reporting(-1);

That might show what is failing.

You can also try commenting out this line in CommonPlugin.php
Code: Select all
        include_once $this->coderoot . 'functions.php';

Didn't find anything in the php or apache logs but will try the other suggestions.

Have to try it later, since the installation is being used at the moment.

Got this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /home/calbroke/public_html/lists/admin/plugins/CommonPlugin/functions.php on line 1

However, commenting out the line: include_once $this->coderoot . 'functions.php';
as you suggested cleared the error, and allowed for access and login, and all appeared normal in the plugins panel.

I didn't see any obvious errors in the functions.php file, syntax looked okay to me, but I'm not an PHP expert...

Can this plugin function safely without including that functions file?

Okay, found more issues with the plugin.

With the Common plugin activated along with the Message Statistics Plugin, I get the error (below) when selecting some of the functions (features) of the statistics plugin.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function array_column() in /home/calbroke/public_html/lists/admin/plugins/CommonPlugin/DB.php on line 93
phpList version 3.0.5

This error comes up when trying to view stats for Bounced, Domains, Opens, etc.

Deactivated both plugins until hopefully there is a solution.

Any help would be appreciated,
Ray

Using PHP 5.4.25
Apache 2.2.26
MySQL 5.5.35
