Meaning of brackets

Postby czclock9 » 9:00pm, Thu 21 Aug, 2014

I'm still creating my first subscribe page. When I see bracketed URL's in the default subscribe page such as:
[CONFIRMATIONURL]
Am I supposed to fill that in?
Does the software fill in default values automatically?
If I am supposed to fill in, can you tell me where I find the URL's that I need?

Thank you.

Bracketed Attributes like that are personalised by phpList itself, you don't need to replace them yourself, in fact, if you do, the links will not work.

You can create your own by adding new Attributes to include on your own subscribe pages, for example, you could add one requesting your subscribers name. If you call it NAME then where ever you place [NAME] within a campaign, phpList will replace [NAME] with your subscribers name and do so for all your subscribers when you send a campaign out.
