Moving the 'Powered by PHPlist' Graphic

Postby lsander » 3:15am, Thu 22 Feb, 2007

This graphic appears at the bottom left of my subscribe pages. I want to keep it, but I'd like to move it to the bottom right, where it interferes a bit less with reading the other stuff on the page.

Any suggestions?

There are two places to change this.

These are in admin/connect.php, look for the power-phplist.png in lines 135 and 137. These have an align="left" attribute, change them both to align="right" (or center) to affect the front end alignment.

Latest phpList version is now 3.0.12 (3 February 2015) and requires a minimum of MySQL 5.0 and PHP 5.3.x

Thanks. Now that they're on the right, it's much less cluttered around the important UNSUBSCRIBE message. Tiny change, big improvement.

I also changed an it's to its in the comment.

New subject: the word Version appears at the very bottom of my subscribe screens, but there's no version number. Programmer's errer or oversight?

Yes, I've found that as well, managed to fix it on the last version, since overwriting with the new files, lost it again and now, can't figure out where to fix it!

Now that I've done some customization of phplist, I'm wondering about losing them when it's updated.

How often do they update it?

Does one lose a lot of stuff when updates happen? (Settings, customizations on subscription pages, customizations in config.php, etc.?) Hopefully I've kept notes inside the files I've changed, so I can go back to the old files and compare 'em to the new ones.

Me too, however, I updated my festival list installation and all the personalisations that I added [are still there, so I think these are stored in the database section, which isn't overwritten.

If you do make changes to specific FILES within phplist, then, yes, I think you would need to (a) keep a backup of these, (b) keep a record of amendments, and line numbers of the amendments.

As for how often it's updated, looking at the forge, this looks to be about twice a year, however this would I imagine depend on security updates as required.

I'm thinking about documenting some of the things I did along the path to having a working system. I'd hate to see it all wiped out by an update, though.
