Limiting time

Postby braveryonions » 2:26pm, Sun 25 Feb, 2007

My host only lets me run processes for up to five minutes at a time, if I go over I have to buy a dedicated IP from them. I was wondering if/how I could make it so PHPlist sends messages for up to 4 minutes, waits 5 minutes, continues for 4 minutes, etc. until it is done.

You could try experimenting with batch processing. See these settings in config.php:
Code: Select all
# define the amount of emails you want to send per period. If 0, batch processing
# is disabled and messages are sent out as fast as possible
define("MAILQUEUE_BATCH_SIZE",0);

# define the length of one batch processing period, in seconds (3600 is an hour)
define("MAILQUEUE_BATCH_PERIOD",3600);

My advice would be to go for another host or pay the extra charges.
