[solved] Recover Admin Password

Postby eforsyth » 6:03pm, Tue 06 Mar, 2007

My webmaster has taken her leave along with all of the Admin passwords. Can someone describe in detail how I can either view the Admin password(s)or how I can reset them.
I need access very soon to keep my subscribers happy :?

Hopefully you can access your website cPanel? If so, check out however your webspace allows you to check the contents of your database, myphpAdmin or similar.

Find the phplist database, or if you just have the one database, the phplist_admin records, browse them and with luck, your admin details should appear, and the 8th item along, is your password, and it's in the clear, not MD5'd!
My sites:- http://wharfedalefestival.co.uk, http://ilkleygardeners.org.uk, http://emergencyaid.net, http://dragonrider.co.uk
Latest phpList version is now 3.0.12 (3 February 2015) and requires a minimum of MySQL 5.0 and PHP 5.3.x

That did it. Somehow in the process (viewing, browsing- not changing) I've lost the access to the database from my website but I'll work with my ISP to get it back Thanks
