What is the Opened Message % of Your Mailings

Postby Guest » 7:44pm, Mon 08 Sep, 2008

I'm sure the quality of your lists and allure of your message title play a big role in how many people open your message. But I'm wondering if there's a common percentage.

Sent out a message to 400 recipients friday. And have so far gotten 40 unique views. 10% sounds kind of low. I'm wondering if we're getting caught in spam filters.

Not necessarily, though possible of course. The 'usertrack' feature is an imperfect tool to track message views:
Note: User tracking has some limitations, as it's effectiveness depends on the recipients being on line when viewing the message. Also keep in mind that the configuration of the recipient's email client or webmail application may prevent images from being loaded when viewing messages. User tracking can only be used with HTML messages.

From what I've gleaned from my marketing buddies, 10-15% is ok, 16-20% is great. This is on lists of over 10,000
