how to take the users email back from the former list!

Postby Micahchen » 9:35am, Tue 25 Aug, 2009

Hi friends,

The problem is like this: I was careless to delete a list of lists, but I want to get back the users email accounts. There are almost 200 users in this list. I know I do not delete users when you delete a list. But how can I get back the users email account? Please give me some suggestion. Thanks a lot!

Use your most recent database backup.
My sites:- http://wharfedalefestival.co.uk, http://ilkleygardeners.org.uk, http://emergencyaid.net, http://dragonrider.co.uk
Latest phpList version is now 3.0.12 (3 February 2015) and requires a minimum of MySQL 5.0 and PHP 5.3.x

Hi Dragonrider, I really appreciate your reply! I'm using Cpanel I'm not very sure how to find the email accounts in data base backup. Could you please do a further explanation?

Now, please let me do a further explanation my problem, I set up three different lists in my phplist before, but I was careless to delete one for the lists. Now, I want find the former email accounts from the deleted list. I know the email accounts are still in the data base, but I don't know how to find them. Could you please give me some suggestion and direction?

I really appreciate!

One. Make a fresh upto date back up of your database.
cPanel> Backups> Backup database
Now, from phpList admin pages, export a list of your users.

Two. This will depend on how recent your previous backup was, I try to make backups each and every weekend these days, you may find any recent additions missing from your backup.

cPanel> MySQL Databases> phpMyAdmin> choose database, Import data. Choose the recent backup, not the one you've just made, and Import the file from your computer (Browse & find), OK.

With luck that's solved it, though you may have lost the most recent additions.

If you're not confident with working with MySQL, then that's what I suggest you do.

You may feel confident enough one day to open the saved CSV file in a text editor and copy the latest users to a new file and see if you can import these back in to phpList.
