User authentication for my website

Anyone know of a PHP/MySQL based user authentication/registration program similar to the one used in PHPList? I specifically need captcha and email verification by interested user.

Do a google search for free Capatcha, you'll be astounded by the number available, then it's just a case of working though the instructions on how to intergrate the code with your application/website.
